Any bike I used to find on the road is sure to catch my attention.  When I hear the sound of my fiero engine - it only reassures me of a reliable bike I have chosen.

The original Kick start Suzuki Fiero is in demand because of its reliable engine and gearbox. Its still one of the main and heavily moded of two wheelers. Hence, other than and fieros and RBX, you would not find Pulsars, Unicorns in Race Tracks through out India.  Hero Honda I belive is soon going to join.

I bought my already two year old fiero in 2003(2001 model). Thats 7 year old now and of which 5 years been with me.  Commute to work.  I drive it with passion. The bike has easily do 110 Kmph given a small strech of road at any point of time.  It has given more.  Dont want to encourage a speed challenge!  I have bored it to 150 CC - since it lost compression and wear and tear(sometime 2007).  Road grip especially when wet is one of the problems of this bike.  I sprocketed the bike and included and yezdi rim and tyre at the rear+ Bajaj Discoverer Shox.  The shox help make up a bit for the height lost and the new tyre gives pretty good grip.  I also replaced the front headlight cum indicator dome - which was the signature of the fiero - with round yezdi headlights and Suzuki  Shogun indicators(poor bush - but also priced cheap to replace).  Now the lighting is perfect with Halogen bulbs added.  I have added lock cum ignition also, which sits more covinient to use than side handle lock.  The bike gives reasonable mileage - around 40 to 45 Kmpl.  This average can be attributed to my high speeds most of the time.  With reasonable speeds - reasonably more mileage number is possible.  The gearbox of this bike is still considered the best among bikes.  It does not give the clunky sound when changing gears at all.  If you have a mechanic - regularly maintaining this bike is very cost effective and keeps bike corrosion and sound free.  The spares are easily available from TVS and is not very high priced.

Its a pure raing breed. Even when most of the bikes cry for engine oil change at 2000 to 2500 kms, my fiero has taken me 3000 kms and more sometimes, without any noise or compalints from the engine.  You can sure feel the raw power once you ride this bike.  Overall this bike has been value for money.  You can sure find good resale value for a decently maintained fiero even today.  They are very much in demand for the race tracks and otherwise.

If you ask me which is my next bike in this segment -> Its the TVS Apache RTR(the new breed).  Awaiting for the bigger upgrades like a 180 and mebbe 200!
