To me..,Gettin my own bike was like a dream come true .,and wat better choice than the Fiero F2., the restyled polished version of the TVS Suzuki Fiero. Although in the begining .,I was looking for an economically friendly bike., I actually wanted a bike that matched my personality. Big yet good looking., Silent , yet powerful. When I had the idea of getting my own bike., the Bajaj Pulsar was the latest craze. But I didn't want to be just 'one of the guys with the pulsar'. I wanted something different AND good. I dropped the Idea of taking a CBZ becoz it was too costly for me and I knew that I wud have to spend most of my pocket money on the fuel. To me., even the super cool looks of the CBZ weren't worth the price. Then one day., I test drove my friends TVS Fiero F2 and I fell in love with the bike. I'll tell u why.., Compared to the other two bikes.,this bikes seating arrangement.,the footrest position.,the handle are the most comfortable. It has the most comfy seat and I didn't exactly Njoy sitting on the narrow hard seats of the Pulsar and the CBZ. Speaking of power delivery., one word tht immediately comes to mind is SMOOOOTH. It has a 147.5 cc engine overhead cam motor has been kept almost unchanged from the prev Fiero with a slight tweaking with compression ratio and other small details which makes the engine even better. The power is 12 BHP (max) and the torque is amazing., rev it upto a speed of 50-70 and let go of the accelerator and it still runs at the same speed smoothly., no sudden jerking like some other bikes. The gears.., now that is somethin different., a 150 cc bike with only 4 gears !? Technically speaking., the gear ratio has been perfectly designed for all range of speeds., which in our normal language translates to ., the four gears are good enuf that u don't need a fifth. Sometimes while zooming at high speeds in the fourth gear., u might want to change into another higher gear ., but it ain't there ! But i'm happy with the 'all down' four gears coz I hav one less gear to change. Coming to the looks., even though this bike is pretty known to everyone., this handsome hunk still turns some heads when I go 4 drives .If I had to call all these bikes my names., I'd say., Pulsar would be Arnold., CBZ wud b Tom Cruise and F2 wud be any of those James Bonds. I like the simple yet elegant design. It has a sizeable presence to b thrown at others. One thing special about this bike is the Power/Economy mode LEDs that go off as per your revving up of the accelerator. Yes., the light are turned on even when the engine is off and many ppl think that this is just a no-good gizmo used by TVS.Well., let me tell you, I get very good mileage using this system. This system actually tells you how much of the accelerator you have revved up or rotated. The green light usually means., for normal safe economical ride ., you need to turn the accelerator in this range and the yellow range is when you are giving more acceleration that you need to ., which in turn increases the power and also decreases the fuel efficiency. All the nice things said about F2 . I wud also like to point out the small cons of this bike. I dont know if this problem is in general of specific to my bike but the rear shocks SUCK. The horn is like a childs trumpet that u can find in the fairs., though its loud enuf to be heard even on the noisiest traffic. The grip of the tyres are a bit weak on wet roads. On the whole.., I would definetely reccomend this bike to anyone who wants a reliable powerful bike with value for you hard earned money. Believe me when I say this., I'm a very choosy person and I don't regret buying this bike AT ALL !
