TVS had a winner on their hands when it came to the Sports ES bike.
I checked out the usual competition in the 100 CC segment before settling for a white TVS sports ES bike.
What got me to choose this bike was the very egronomic stance when sitting on the bike, the flat seat, the looks and the performance.
The bike has a good acceleration in the 1st gear and can do a wheelie easily . Though being a 100 CC four stroke the power tappers off very fast at higher RPMs. Its top speed is about 80KMH and milage I get is about 70 in bangalore city driving and about 78 when used outside the city.
When it comes to looks this bike is a beauty, especially the white with red graphics.
I have used this bike for more then a year now and it still never fails to impress, dispite the frequent issues with quality of accessories and rubber parts.
Other then the issues mentioned below the build quality seems good, the fiber parts are strong and fit well.
So here is what I mean by bad quality .First almost immediately the rubber covers on the side mirrors cracked and feel off, when I complained I was told warranty does not cover those parts.
After a few days of buying the bike I decieded to fill up the bike to max and check the milage, immediately after filling the tank I found that petrol was leaking from rubber gasket of the fuel indicator guage. On taking it to the service centre it was immediately taken care of for free, but I lost petrol and TVS my trust.
Next to go was the choke cable, this after a few uses, again cables are not covered by warranty.
next to go after about a year was the ignition switch. At first I thought that getting the bike to neutral was an issue but soon I found that it was an issue with the ignition key and though the bike was in neutral the green indicator on the dashboard failed to come on. a little fiddling with the key got it on.
Point to note is that if the contact fails none of the battery operated features like indicators, lights and autostart work. Again I will have to pay for this because electrical parts are not coved by warranty!.
next the silencer is painted matt black. the part of the silence where it connects to the engine has begun to rust.
In short though this is a bike you would love, its a love hate relationship due to poor quality of parts.
