Think twice before you buy... Review on TVS Scooty Streak

I took delivery of the Scooty Streak last week from Yesskay motors Chennai. When I walked into the TVS showroom, I found that the Streak sells like hot cake and my jaws dropped when I heard the on road price, it comes to near 44, 000 on road Chennai. The color you choose may have a difference of 400 and accessories cost 800. HH Pleasure cost the same money and Honda Dio cost 2k more. So is this Streak worth the money and hype. I think NO but at the end you still would end up buying this vehicle.

I will explain that.

First why I don`t like this vehicle. The pep been around the market for so long, so when TVS introduced something new.what was the innovation they put in with their years of learning with Pep?.nothing. The Streak is clearly a half baked effort rather than honest effort by TVS. mmm I don`t know whether they are overconfident in this Scootereete segment.

Features:

The litec engine is crap.its the same engine of the Pep.

Style: TVS asked the designers to straighten all the curves and fatten the rear to give it a presence at par with other scooters.the design doesn't blend well and overall it looks OK but here TVS should have incresed the engine CC to compensate for its size. The rear LED`s look hideous doesn`t look like it was designed by someone who has some sense of aesthetics.

So is it diffrent from TVS Pep.

Slight tweak in Shocks. Fattented body panels, a glove box thats it.

So why the hell do we buy this.

Well in metros like Chennai, many buy vehicals considering men in thier family also, ie they buy it for the sister or wife but again the brother or husband should be able to ride it.

So all those straight lines of Streak work in its favour and HH Pleasure ad " Y should boys have fun.bla" works against it.

In fact HH pleasure is so well made, has 100cc engine, tubeless tyres, and is so compact for its capacity and returns excellent mileage.but then its ad campaign has put off many male buyers.

The DIO? well waiting period and out of the world looks and pillion rider position, battery trouble.all this puts off women's buyers.

It is here that this pointless Streak scores.

So Pep+. I think most of us have got so bored with the looks of Scooty pep and definitely people wanted more choice that too with the introduction of new scooters so we are ready to pay the extra 2k.

So the winner is this Streak and those of us who have wives and sisters would invariably buy this crap.and live with it.

Anything good about Streak.

It has a good ground clearance so good fr potholed roads.

Very light and zippy for single riders.

Looks good compared to others.

The rear look and size is at par with others.

My final request for TVS.hi guys I hope u guys are enjoying ur monopoly in this scooter segment. That's y u came up with this pointless vehical. But I have a Starcity 110 also which I bought for 45k and its wonderful and I know what u guys can do for this money.so pls don`t cheat customers like this.

Also Honda and Hero honda mention on road prices in websites and you can implement this.
