As I usually do before any purchase, I visited several websites, dealers, showrooms and took test rides...I am now really happy riding pep+ from 2006 and but I too faced 2 problems - starting and engine noisy sound.
When I went to the service centre he told that battery was weak and charged it.The second time when I went in Jan 08, It was engine noise.
The service centre mechanic told that the engine is not tuned properly the before time as as I serviced in dhanavantarai TVS which was known to me first time.
After that servicing I did not face any problem. As the company says regular servicing of vehicle with care helps in long lasting and smooth running of the vehicle, now I am free from vehicle waste running costs with regular servicing of 3 months.
NOW THE ENGINE IS AS PEPPY AS THE FIRST DAY OF THE VEHICLE.My vehicle is driven by everybody in my house except kids. it is very user friendly for any one to ride. I reecommend everybody who is buying a scooter pick it from best dealership or more reputed dealership for after sales service.Tips while Buying a Vehicle :
1.Check the whole vehicles body for scratches or dents and its components i.e., motor's and electricals for proper functioning.
2.Tell the attender to start the engine to observe the abnormal sounds both by kick and self starts.
3.Ask for each and every extra accessory and owners needies i.e., owners manual, tool kit first-aid kit, 2 vehicle keys.
4.check the working of speed-o-meter and fuel gauze for proper indication and the milometer shoud show 1.5 km or less runned before taking the vehicle (as 1.5km is noted as vehicle test distance).
Tips after buying a vehicle:
1.Service the vehicle regularly.
2.Check for problems after servicing of the vehicle and rectify immediately as many problems linked with it are faced in long run.
3.In cold mornings, try to kick start the vehicle atleast twice a day.
4.If 2-stroke fill petrol with 2t oil at correct levels and if 4-stroke change the engine oil for every alternate service schedule for good pickup and smoothness of the engine.
5.Do not add any extra fittings other than given by dealers to the vehicle as vehicle may loose power.
6.Clean the vehicle daily(if possible) with a cotton damp cloth (for avoiding scratches and giving shine).
7.steering tightening or flat tyres consume more power resulting in poor pickup.
8.most common advise - please avoid it from continuous rainfall as the greasing gets washed away and resulting in improper functioning of brakes.
Follow the Tips and retain the vehicle for long time.
