Zippy Zippy Zoo.............. Review on TVS Scooty Pep+

Situations :What do you do if you stay in a city where it takes at least 45 minutes to cover a stretch of land of 5 KMS every day by your car ?? That too right on your office time you feel like full of the city people are on road - driving there vehicles as if not to let you reach your office from any possible ways?? Moreover an auto Walla scratches the right side of your car, the day you get it dented and painted - courtesy Insurance Company?? What if your wife wanna attend a language course?? And every other day in the morning you are told to go for that casual walk so that you get some vegetables or fruits? What do you do - when one fine day - wifey dear announces - Ghee is over??

In all those situations I used to feel like - I wish I cud have a two wheeler - something like a Kinetic Honda, so that I don’t have to kick it and Vroooooom I wud have done all those things in minutes.

These were the situations in our daily lives which made me finally go for this Scoot Pep and fortunately I got it financed in about 2 hrs flat (Refer my earlier review on HDFC Bank's two wheeler loan).

My research for a two wheeler - while wifey dear was specifically was in mind - I zeroed in on Scooty Pep and a couple of other models of the same type. Since the mileage, maintenance, availability of spares, Service Centre Distance, Looks were all in our favor. As TVS Showroom / service centre is right at the walking distance too, we went for it.

Looks Wise :It looks kool especially on females, that too my wifey choose the Cherry Red Color with a silver combo, It really looks peppy. It comes with two cool rear view mirrors which makes the look peppier. It comes in 4-5 different colors like Red, Purple, and Chocolate etc.

Power and Maintenance : Scooty Pep comes in two different variants, One is Just Pep other one they have launched recently is Pep +, the one I am talking about here is Pep which comes in 75CC with some 4.0 ++ BHP's more than enough to move one or two standard sized people from one place to another at an average top speed of 60 KMHR. Fuel Tank Capacity is 5 litres which will give 250 KM Run on average situations. Since it has a four stroke engine the power and mileage is kindda ok, for the last three months we have got no issues so far in the first two services.

Functions :It comes with a self start and an auto choke, Speedometer has Fuel Indicator, Turn Indicators, Speed, Power / Economy Mode, Head Lamp Indicator and a side stand buzzer which is very useful. Powerful Headlight with a Good Horn. It has a cool small dickey kind of rack right below the ignition where in a couple of small things you can keep like, CD's Papers Cell Phone and cleaning cloth too. There are two attachments wherein you can keep the little poly packs or little bags dangling in the air, one above this rack which can be pulled open and the other one below the seat where you lock the helmet, It has got a huge space in the dickey, I never expected that to be this big. Almost a week’s supply of vegetables I purchase get easily stuffed inside. Moreover it has a bottle stand too wherein you can put a one litre pet bottle, which stands neatly on one side throughout the journey. You've got to open the seat and put in 90 Degrees angle while filling the petrol. The tool kit remains fixed to the seat below it right like a baby kangaroo keeps sticking into his moms lap.

Extras : It comes with Puncture Resistant Tyres. Side Stand Buzzer is really very good.

Precaution :Has to be taken while driving on wet surface as due to the small size of tyre it might skid.

Conclusion :Since I have got it, It takes me right 15 minutes to reach the office with less tension, but yeah now I am looking forward to some solution to cities pollution problem.

All in all it is a highly recommended two wheeler for easy riding, no racing and stunt showing is advisable with this vehicle.
