One week back, I watched an episode of SAREGAMAPA on ZeeTv which made me think that no-way I am continuing to watch this program anymore.. and why ? Then a thought creeped in Why should I get bothered by a simple program running on TV just take it as an entertainment and move on ...but something inside me wanted to rebel and stop watching this program :) so following is the way that unfortunate episode of SAREGAMAPA went ahead..
Episode starts with a normal routine SAREGAMAPA shout from Shaan with a Group song sung by all the 4 Finalists.. then introduction of all the mentors..along with their own Gharana..candidates..
Till here if you watch closely .. everything seems OK .. when asked to one contestant he says ''I am asusual confident etc etc'' with all smiles everywhere... But since this episode was a decider (means result declaration from previous episodes performance).. Shaan had to move on to the next phase of declaring the results...
This program takes into account all the Public votes regardless of who is voting and from where the votes are coming .. you can vote as many times as you can, ground rules are all well explained and understood..
First result is declared that one candidate named ''DEBOJIT'' is the first one to move on to next stage .. with highest number of votes... and one by one unfortunate things start happening in front of entire Audience watching this program ...
The other 3 contestants GANG up against this single singer from Assam or say NorthEast.. Similarly the Composers (who BTW are so called MODERN GURU's) and have won great Laurels in their fields...
In Every episode if you see, all contestants get more votes from their ''Home Ground'' thats obvious and thats India...
But the drama is initiated by the 3 contestants who couldn't see a single singer from Assam getting more votes than them .. and they together come on the stage and make a Childish declaration that they want to Quit ..Along with these 3 Hopeless contestants we have 3 renowned composers like Ismail Darbar, Himesh Reshammia, Aadesh Srivastava playing their roles..
In this episode Shaan declares that Debojit from Assam has received 80% votes from NorthEastern states... 2 % from Mumbai .. 2 % Kolkatta, etc etc And immediately ''Modern 21st Century Guru'' Aadesh Srivastava equates Assam with entire NorthEast, displaying his own lack of knowledge..
When everything goes Ulta-Pulta.. and the 3 contestants not justifying why are they Quitting the competition...
Ismail Darbar Asks ''Kya yeh Zaroori hai Tum Teen Hamesha Number One Aao?'' (is it necessary that you 3 should always be Number 1?) Very Simple question ..
Answer comes from Mr.Vinit (17 yrs age) (a modern Shishya of Modern Guru Himesh) ''Sir, We are nothing in front of you .. but after singing for so long atleast we know a little bit how and what we sing'' This Guy Vineet is in Love with somebody and his Modern Guru Himesh has kept this as secret and keeps asking the audience .. to make his Love a success by Voting for him...
On this Ismail asks ''Do you mean to say You sing better than Debojit?''
One Mumbai Guy from the audience says, Ismail Darbar or Debojit has not gone door to door in Assam to ask for Vote .. but this is public.. if we want to Vote for Debojit who are you to question it? (very correct.. I agreed immediately watching TV, every contestants job is to keep performing, and rest in peace, let the judges and public decide)
One lady screams ''This is not Assam's Voice .. this should be India's Voice'' (By The way this Lady seems to be a relative of Aadesh hehehe)
Debojit with tears in his Eyes .. could not believe the Drama unfolding...
Ismail Darbar asks .. ''Kya Assam India mein nahi hai ?''
MY Question was .. whats wrong if that poor fellow from Assam getting votes
from his home ground ? I have seen Himani getting votes from Haryana ...
Nihira getting votes from Mumbai .. Hemachandra's Parents spent 2 Lakh
rupees to put his posters all around Hyderabad..and he is cashing on those
votes definately .. then WHATS WRONG WITH DEBOJIT GETTING VOTES FROM ASSAM?
If your Home states are not voting from you .. its your problem .. Himani, Vineet and Hemachandra not Debojit's ...
Singing has taken the lowest criteria for voting in this program .. Its all about composers (acting like Guru's) HUGE EGO.. I will make this guy star.. that Girl star and what not ... bus Dialogue-baazi.. Himesh keeps talking about Vineet's Love interest and his Topi ... Earlier we use to hear some really good facts about singing.. from other invited judges..
I wonder with such Idols like Lata, Asha, Kishore, Rafi and so many masters like Pt.Bhimsen Joshi, Zakir Hussain .. in front of todays youth for so many years.. why todays young singers behave like this .. why they dont have respect for each other (and this is the first step of these contestants into stardom and look at them)
If we continue to alienate people from Northeast (all seven states) and keep Raping girls from Manipur on Delhi streets .. and keep calling then as Chini.. God help India..

Two years ago, I saw American Idol where the three best singers, all Black, featured in the bottom three. It sparked off a huge debate in America. The Black American felt he did not belong to the larger American community. There, the judges cried. Here, our judges (Modern Guru's) encouraged this discrimination.
For me .. this program has ended its run on that day... and I pray that Debojit from Assam wins it .. no matter how he sings .. because it seemed to me its Assam contestant versus the rest of India.. which I dont agree with ... and Sorry Gajendra Singh.. I am quitting your program..
