Yesterday on 31-Mar-2014 I bought TVS Jupiter from Roshan Automobiles Dombivali. It is Just two days old I may update my ratings as I will understand more on TVS Jupiter performance. But need to mention about fuel tank capacity. If you see website or any TVS Jupiter blogs they say that TVS Jupiter has 5 to 5.3 liters of fuel tank even Jupiter manual says 5 liters(But in bottom its says fuel tank is not a measuring instrument and it's capacity may vary slightly from indicated capacity).
It is common that dealer fill at least 1 liter of petrol, assuming that, on the same day(i.e on 31-Mar-2014) I went to the petrol pump. At petrol pump Jupiter odometer displayed 18 Km of running(may be dealer mechanics would have taken test drive before they sold me as distance from Roshan automobiles to Dombivali petrol pump(near Pendharkar college) is just 2 to 2.5 km approx). At petrol pump Jupiter low fuel indicator was also on and it is mentioned in manual that it will turn on if there is minimum of 600 ml petrol left. So considering dealer had filled 1 liter of petrol I thought 400ml could have been consumed in 18 km.
I told petrol pump person to completely fill the tank and to my surprise it just hold 3.42 liter of petrol and the tank was full. Now if you calculate fuel tank capacity it is coming 3.42 litre+ assuming 600 ml remaining petrol( as the fuel indicator was on)= 4 Liters approx. I will definitely report my mileage in coming days but before that let me first sort out fuel tank capacity issue. I informed TVS customer care but they told me dealer can answer your question. When I ask dealer they say it depends on scooter it can varies slightly. But do you think 1 litre difference in fuel tank capacity is slightly?
