Nice Bike to buy. Review on TVS Jive

Today 15/june/2010 , 1.40 pm I took a test ride of TVS Jive in venkateswara motors showroom. The bike looks good and the model is a different type. The fuel tank is different than victor or start city. it has a nice curvy feature. 15 lit with 2.5 reserve. I read all the reviews of this bike in mouthshut , but I never really had a correct perspective vision of the bike bcos of various feelings of people .for it..

Now my exp with this test ride-bike 110 cc , 8.3bh Power , Self start on all gears(honda bike in this range take self only in neutral). No clutch -i thought it will give jerk, when slowed, I went with this in my mind-but my surprise, u decrease the acc fully and the bike will not jerk nor will halt . u can stop at peace in traffic in any gear., just decrese the acc fully. Raise the acc and the bike moves, Gears-are smooth, and all are down .Press the gear a bit harder than other bikes. Since iam use to a yezdi bike, this was easy for me.There are gear indicator tosay which gear u are in -nice feature this one. Pickup and running is smooth. 1st round-i took the showroom guy with me as pavilion ride-first round was for checking checking no clutch and jerk symptoms -found none, breaking -front and back.

No probs, maneavuring -no prob. 2nd-round was speed and weight pull test --the vehicle gets good pickup in 2 &3rd gear and makes a whhooooom kind of sound --normal sound for pickup gears, 4th was running smooth. had a funny feeling since no cluth lever .If u want more mileage don't use1, 2, 3 gearsof ten try to get to running gear 4th gear as fast as u can. Bcos 1st 3 gears(1, 2, 3) are good fuel consumers in any bike..But I think weight pull is less but for this range of bike ---it is pulling fine. Im 87kg and pavillion was about 55kg. It performed well having us on both on it. The showroom guy said few bikes completed 3rd service(6000km)and no complaints and getting avg of 58 km. I can't say more about reliablity of this system on long drives , but TVS has a good backup and this should perform good day in day out.. I guess...

I'm thinking of going for this bike soon. I think the fuel economy should fall roughly at 58-60 km/pl in city and about 60+ in long run. What say guys, go for it.
