I always had never purchased a bike before this one. I always dreamt to buy a bike with the best sporty looks, power, pickup and mileage keeping in mind mind the cost factor. I mean, all the features, in one.
So, I started a great deal of survey and research on bikes. The first came to my mind was PULSAR. It's a power bike with muscular looks. But, it's too expensive(around 58,000) and gives an average of 50-55 km. So, I dropped the idea - although the power part was atrracting me.
Then, came my mind was - Hero Honda Splendour/ Passion but the looks were not appealing to me. Then, I saw a TVS Victor and the blue color with stylish looks and a good average was brought to my mind. Still, I was not getting convinced.
One day, I saw the 100km ad of Tvs Centra. so, I decided to go for a visit to the dealer. I saw the red color but it was not appealing. Then, I saw the blue color. I looked like a sports bike with blue color, stylish graphics, wider fuel tank, good seating, etc.. My gut feeling was I should go for it without a test ride( was stupid for some people). I booked it for 42,644 but at time I delivery I paid a price of 44, 337.( demand for CenTra increased in the market). I had to wait 2 months and for the blue color - extra 15 days.
The wait was worth it.
The bike has won my heart. It light, easy to handle( give cuts in small gaps), no noise disturbing noise, sporty, with a nice funky headlight and storage space. I kept the speed around 40-50 in 1st 1000 km. I got it serviced properly at the TVS workshop. They are the best people.
I am getting an average of 80km!!!!!!!!!!! My riding is 35% high way and 65% city riding. Considering this, I save a lot of MONEY than my companions.
CenTra is not a POWER bike with a 100cc VTi engine, but it give me the satisfaction of high speeds(80km) and I take on ppl with pulsars and defeat them - MIND U. (not joking, you cna took if u knw how to ride). Ofcourse, then the mileage will decrease for that time. Anyways, not bad - if u feel like RACING.
Brakes are good and pickup is OK. Only the kick start is a problem. You have to give a CHOKE every morning due to cold starting.
All in all, it's a combination of looks, mileage and some power(being a 100cc) bike.
I think it's the best bike catering to all needs. I think, guys can compromise on some decrease in power when u save a lot.
