TVS centra is going to be centre of attraction for the entry level bike segment.
It is a competitively priced 100cc motorcycle at around Rs. 36,500 and aims straight for the Hero Honda Splender the established king of the class for more then a decade.
This is a spicier looking than most rivals mainly splender. Comfort has not been left out of the equation either. Seating position is very comfortable. Handling is much better than spender.
The 99.3 cc engine pumps out 7.5 bhp which is average for this segment.
Best part is 75 KMPL in city riding conditions.
Smooth pick up, with gears that shift well, and ratios to ensure that the progress is steady as you shift up
All this adds up to a bike I think should soon be endearing itself to economy sector buyers, offering everything most commuters need, and adding a welcome dash of refinement and class.
In my view the Centra is the best bang for the buck among the entry-level class bikes. But it has to compete for its space with spender.
