The Truth - - - - - - - - - - - -(updated 26/8/06). Review on TVS Apache 150

My name is Rahim, I am from Kerala Before one week Me and my friend bought two Apache.

Earlier I used Bajaj caliber 115 2004 model and my friend has one HH splendor 1999 model we are satisfied with these bikes. When we decided to take a new bike we were in big confusion in selecting bike.

Pulser is a good bike but most of the owners says that they changed there Chain sprocket several times and some times engine produces very noise. don’t know why they are saying like that in my caliber115 I also changed the chain sprocket; most of the people who are using bajaj bikes they said that they have some problem with the chain sprocket also in engine.

Honda Unicorn we are not satisfied with the look and power but it has good suspension.

About my friends bike it after 6 years it produced some sound from the engine we knew well that if we gone to repair it will cost too much. So we diced to exchange the bike.

We want a bike it look different stylish must have good power good mileage.

CBZ was our one choice but we don’t know the mileage of the bike when we gone to the HH show room they said that CBZ is stopped. We looked at Karizma. It has good power but no mileage and we don’t like the steady head light.

Then we heard about Pulser 223cc DTS Fi its looked ok to us forgetting the steady head light but the expecting price is too high they said it was a 1 lakh bike.

We looked at Apache , it was the bike of the year (there is something in it. Some of my friends also had tvs bikes victor is giving good mileage, fiero has good performance. We guessed there is some thing in this Apache.) we took a test drive first time it looked ok to us so we booked it. My friends were told it was not a good bike, copy of pulser, crap model….. we became very confused . we took test drive several time and that was ok to us we decided to take a chance.

Apache is a new bike. Friends said that it is a risk in taking it .

We said every new bike, or new car, or a new computer anything is a risk. So we would like to take a risk.

We got our Apache on 23rd july,

Two Black Apache every one looked which is the bike not pulser. Ok it look good everybody is looking us . we are happy with the bikes style.

Now performance we tested it driving in 40km speed on 5th gear given the throttle to full Zooooom its came to more than 90km so quickly yaaa we were happy with the performance

Mileage I got 58 an my friend got 59. ya we got a amzing bike with good milage

When I searched the net for the apache reviews I have seen lot of people saying that the engine is not stable after 4000km

We covered 600km no problem from the engine side we are going to take the first service

We are Waiting to cover 4000km. after it we will replay to those who are blaming this bike.

31st july

we took our first service at nearly 700km my friends bike has a suspension problem the oil from the rear right suspension is leeking out. they have no stock of suspension they said they will call when the item comes. they charged rs: 173(engine oil150+oil filter23) the bike is running smoothly

now I have to check the mileage

3rd August

my my bikes odo meter is not working. I took my bike to the service station they said the pineon is gone and they have nostock. it will come after a week. the bike is running smoothly I dont feel any vibration on it. in what way some guys saying that it has vibration????

7th August

my frined checked his bikes milage. he is 56kg. he filled 100 rupees(1.97lit) petrol and gone 132 km. hegetting arround 65km/lt he finished 1123 km there is no problem.

17th august

after 16 days I got my bikes pineon and installed the odometre is working the cost of the pineon is 157/- but they didnt charged. my friend covered 1706km he getting the milage of 65 km/l I am checking my bikes mileage .

26th august

i have checked my bikes mileage several times and it showed 55-59 kmpl thats enough for me
