TSR Darashaw are supposed to be the agents on behalf of Tata Motors for helping investors demat their shares. I say "supposed to be" because it is like saying RTO is supposed to help motorists.
My wife wanted to demat her old Tata Motors shares. After a gap of 30+ years there is a signature verification required so the shares are sent back, and full process of signature verification including bank and affidavit and other documents is done. Then Darashaw sends all documents back saying'misc reason 0099 signature variation'.
So now they expect that another affidavit saying EXACTLY the same thing should be made again. I raise a complaint on social media. After an hour or so a phone comes from a private mobile 09867018124, on truecaller the ID is "Jadhav" but the lady says she is "Mary", She says she wants to help. I say what is help, she gives a hint, I say no way I am going to take any "help", I want an internal investigation so then she hangs up the mobile.
So then I write to Tata Motors - to the Company Secretary - Dear Mr. Sethna,
Good Afternoon.
My wife has been a loyal Tata Motors share-holder since the days of TELCO.
The correspondence below explains part of what we think is an attempt by TSR Darashaw to harass her in trying to demat her shares in Tata Motors.
Main point is this - she has been through the full process of affidavits and more for signature variations.
At the end of it, then, the whole effort is negated by the most kafkaesque reason of "0099 - misc." that signature does not match.
Can you see the amazing rotational logic here please?
1) Signature does not match after 30+ years - accepted.
2) Affidavit and full process is followed for signature change request -
3) She is told once again - signature does not match.
4) What to do? File form again. Then file affidavit for signature variation again.
5) Keep doing this till one day we give up and come to the TSR D office and then "do the needful"?
Is this an RTO?
This can go on forever, you may agree?
Next, now I have just received a truculent call from a lady saying she was "Mary" from 09867018124 which reveals as "Darashawmobile Jadhav Darashaw"
Is this an official TSR Darashaw number? I think not.
The lady on the other end suggested some unofficial solutions, "I am trying to help", the sort we hear at RTOs.
What is going on, Mr. Sethna, please? The name of the House of Tata is on such pillars now?
Please look into this and investigate, we shall be glad to help.
And any calls that come to investors should come from an official landline, don't you think?
