Classical to the Core. Review on TI 34 Calculator

The other day I was fired all ends up by my mom for not re-arranging my shelf. There were so many things piled up so that it gave a garbage look, my shelf. Rightly,my mom was furious. So,the lazy me,as usual,started the job of re-arranging. While I was doing this, I laid my hands on this thing, a calculator I hadn’t used before.

But before sharing my thoughts on the calculator I should say what went through my idle mind. I started wondering how by just pressing some keys, the calculator is able to manipulate so many things? Then I concluded with an expression which conveyed, “Well, Technology after all”. But then, my thoughts came rushing back and yeah, this calculator I was holding was a “Texas Instruments-TI34”, something I never had seen before nor operated. I wondered how it made it to my shelf (dustbowl?). On enquiring, I found out that it was earlier used by my dad. Goodness Gracious me. The Calculator was still working.

Oh Yeah!! I was back to my meddling ways. I started putting the calculator to a lot of tests and it just won’t give up. I was so impressed that I am here to review this product, “Texas Instruments TI34”.

The Calculator comes with a really looky and trendy design and more than anything else, a tamper proof case. If the calculator can survive the weight of a deluge of things in my shelf, just imagine how hard the case is. Now we shall look into the features.

The Keys:- To put it in simple words, the keys are bright and colourful, neatly designed and case sensitive. “Quick Calculations, No Problem” says the calculator which has the functions imprinted clearly and in a legible manner. On the whole the keys are strong and boy, they are really durable.

Functions:- The calculator is capable of almost all the basic engineering functions like, trigonometric and inverse trigonometric, hyperbolic functions, standard deviation, squares, multiple powers, square roots & multiple roots, exponential functions, logarithmic conversions, polar-base conversions and permutation-combinations.

To add with these are the basic and universal logic gate operations. This is one striking aspect of this product. AND,OR,NOT,XOR & XNOR , everything is fine out here. And you want more, you got more.

Hexadecimal, Octal, Binary and Decimal conversions are also incorporated. Hence satisfying both the computer science and mechanical students.

Display & Memory:- Though the Calci lacks a two tier display, the numericals inputted can be kept in track. More so the output is wonderfully bifurcated between numbers, decimals and powers. As far as the memory is concerned, it is superlative. No flaws whatsoever. You can store up to 6 numbers and recall them whenever necessary. The processing speed is what leaves me in awe really. It betters even the Casio on this count.

What this model lacks? : Probably nothing. YES, it satisfies all the needs of an average Engineering student and if there is something missing then it got to be constants and programmable memory. But among its class, it betters the rest.

With a dual power capacity, the calculator is energy efficient and I believe my dad has changed the cell only once in the past 7 years. Well doesn’t that speak?

So, to sum it up, I can say that this product is a gem. The TI-34 is reliable and rightly so. It’ll give the best when you put it to the hardest of tests. Believe me, it is working wonders. Though it is an oldie, it is classical to the core. I personally feel you should go for it. So, what more should I say? Go ahead and get one for yourself.
