I bought induction cooker without any actual understanding of it’s use or working, but with sheer necessity as there was an acute shortage of cooking gas here. But this buy is the most satisfying buying decision I made so far. Cooking with electricity is considered a bad idea by many because it incures huge electricity bill(same as water heaters).Induction cooking is entirely different .Even if you use it almost entirely to handle all the cooking it makes only 100rupees per month for a small family of 3or 4.(indicative).Conventional electric cookers use coils to generate heat which consumes heavy current. But induction cooking use magnetism to generate heat and consumes very little energy.

You cannot use all kind of pots on this cooker, only stainless steel, chinaware, and cast iron can be used.  Aluminium, . clay, mixed metal, ordinary steel(which is not stainless steel), non stick thavas etc  cannot be used. One can use stainless  steel cooker(ex .prestige) on this. The basic model from tcl cost me 3900 rupees .The only branded company sells induction cooker in India is only tcl(chinees brand but reputed world over). But there are many unheard companies selling this now a days. It is a real wonder seeing how it works, you can only hear a fan working inside  the cooker .It boils water quickly faster than any thing else. It is very simple to operate even  for aged people. Only 3 buttons one to on /off, another one for increase and another for decrease heat. I think this is best cooker for Indian cooking as cooked items can be stired easily unlike microwave oven , which need to switch off and open the door to stir .Induction cooker can save you from burns even if you are a careless cook as the top of the cooker never gets hot, But only the pot gets hot.It is only 2 inch height so can put any where in the kitchen. you can cook puttu in this, the only thing is you need to have a stainless steel  puttu pot. It heats to the extent circumference of the pot, no waste of energy. You can use your cooking gas stand by when there is a power cut .

The only negative mark I found is that you can put only flat bottom pots.as the cooker top is flat you cannot place a deep frying pan(cheenachatty)  on in properly. Non stick pans also cannot be used because of the metal they are made of.On the economical point of view also this cooker works wonders as it can cook 1/3rd of the cost of cooking gas we use(RS 300 for one refill). And there is no smoke, fumes, heat, sweat. It seems to be a best buy for even singles or bachelors who cook regularly or occasionally but eats regularly!.

the model is mi chef from tcl model no.tc18m.user manual says the rated power(w) is 1800w.there is 6 power levels 1-6, (consumption is 200w when in 1 and 1800w in 6).Whatever  is the cooking system you follow from  using wood to make fire or induction or microwave two variable control cooking, one is the time you cook{short or long}, and the power{level of fire, high or low}.the more fire less time to cook, less fire more time(may vary) so these cannot be too complex whatsoever.
