I am a customer of Syndicate Bank, Pune Camp branch since the past 45 years - my father opened an saving bank account in my name when I was five years old. There was a time when the service of the bank was not so good - so I opened an account with SBI and conducted all my business there.
The bank is improving but there is room for more improvement.
For example, customers should be able to deposit, transfer and withdraw money from their saving bank accounts without filling in forms by using their ATM cards as done in SBI.
The internet bank facility has to be improved and upgraded - customers should be able to open fixed deposit accounts using internet banking. At present, they have to fill a form to open a FD account.
Another point - I have a Syndicate Bank Credit Card and to activate auto-debit, I have to send a form by snail mail to their Bangalore office - this seems really strange to me.
Overall, the staff is cordial and efficient. There was an elderly officer who was problematic, but thankfully, he has retired. A few of the new officers are very good.
Overall, Syndicate bank has to improve and upgrade its services if it wants to retain its customers, let alone attract new customers.
