Summer in Mumbai is a pain. It makes you bathe in sweat. To battle that, as air conditioner is not much advisable to use in the home I live, air cooler was only choice I had and bought an Air cooler- Symphony Hi Cool I after a comprehensive research using sites such as Flipkart, snapdeal.
I am pretty impressed with this cooler. It has honeycomb like pads at the back to keep water running through it and keep atmosphere cool. It has tank capacity of approximately 30 liters and has horizontal swing function (which can be turned off) and consumes just 185W when operated on Indian 230V 50Hz supply.
You have to fill it completely to run for continuously 12 hours approximately. The temperature of air blown by it depends no the water you pour. Being an Indian product, I'd recommend this to anyone. It has a remote by which you can power it on or off, control swing and cooling as well as time it to run for certain amount of hours.
It doesn't generate humidity at all, as feared by many customers, neither did we had any cough problems after using it for a month.
