What does being an Indian mean to us? Guilt for some? Pride for most OR nothing to the rest? Its our sole perspective. Most of us try to find the answer to this question by measuring what the nation has given us.

I might be sailing in the same boat, as even I have the dreams to grow and to globalize. By globalize I mean, have a wish to go abroad to pursue a career for my betterment both personal and financial. So am I not proud to be an Indian? No, I am proud to be an Indian. Believe me I just can?t imagine me being in a different country for long. Just being in a different city for a few months has made me impatient.

I?ll prefer the smoke, traffic, crowded trains in Mumbai than being anywhere else for too long. Being an Indian does add on a stride and responsibility to us. Whenever rhythm and/or lyrics of ?The National Anthem?, ?Vande Mataram? or ?Saare Jahan Se Accha? reach my ears, the shivers make me feel proud and more confident. Almost the same was the effect while watching this masterpiece.

?It?s a very slow film?, ?Gayatri is cool, but the film is boring?, ?A film to make you cry? ? Few responses I got from some people who watched the film before I did. Those few people, mind you those are really few odd ones, try to run away from the facts. The movie is meant to entertain you, but if your definition of entertainment is rocking dances, jazzy outfits and glamour ? then mind you this film is not for you. And for those who like all these, please do not name the film.

?Swades? talks about what we Indians are in reality. It portraits how do we try to hide our incapability because of our mentality? Some hard biting truth, which the (old) generation might not agree with. I liked the film not because Mohan Bhargav (SRK) comes back to his motherland, resigning from a high profile job at NASA but because of some facts he mentioned during the course of the film.

That was about the story/script of the film, which I liked. The elements that I admire the most are the dialogues and the https://lyrics. Natural looks for SRK and all other characters in the film (which some might find boring). And when it is A. R. Rehman it has to be just perfect for the music. Traditional ?Tabla? and ?Shehnai? presented in the form we like.

I went thro? some of the reviews about the film, all of them have a detailed explanation of the performance of individuals, hence I?ll refrain myself by writing more on the same. I?ll comment about it just by ?All performers were excellent?.

?Swades?, surely into my list of favorite films. I give it Five.
