I buy this bike and happy. It is giving great milege
Suzuki’s Gixxer came as a breakthrough for the two-
wheeler division of Japanese manufacturer. Attributed by
sharp performance and distinctive design, the street
naked bike is one of the strongest contenders in the
150cc bike segment. The detailing on the bike has been
given prominence which works well for Gixxer. A chunky
fuel tank and host of features incorporated on the bike
make it a desirable offering. Power is drawn by a single
cylinder, four stroke petrol engine yielding decent power
output. Performance delivered by the engine puts Gixxer in
the fore with other rivals in budget segment. Claimed fuel
economy for the 150cc naked street bike is average.
Comfort of the rider and pillion are given prime
significance, there is enough room for both and seats are
well cushioned. Pricing is affordable making Gixxer a
viable option amid budget bikes.
Suzuki Gixxer Looks
Outer styling is not out of the box but it impresses
onlookers. Up front, the bike gets smart digital
instrumentation with gear position and RPM indicator. The
dual tone colour scheme features black colour in
dominance with contrast coloured graphics. A clear lens
indicator is placed at the end of the tail and a stylish LED
tail light is equipped at rear side. Dual exhausts are
present close to the rear tyre. With a length of 2050 mm,
width of 785 mm, height of 1030 mm and 1330 mm of
wheelbase, Gixxer appears a macho motorcycle. Ground
clearance stands at 160 mm rendering flexibility for
cornering. The seat height is comfortable at 780 mm and
the overall curb mass measures 135 kg indicating at adept
performance. Moreover the upright riding position, wide
handlebar and well cushioned seats aid towards
comfortable ride experience.
Suzuki Gixxer Engine Specifications & Transmission
Power is supplied by a 155cc, single cylinder, two valves,
4-stroke, air-cooled petrol engine. The engine is capable
of generating maximum power output of 14.8 PS at 8000
RPM along with top torque of 14 Nm at 6000 RPM. The
engine comes with an electric starter system and power is
sent to wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox.
Suzuki Gixxer Performance & Mileage
In terms of performance, Gixxer lives up to the
expectation of the owner. The 100 kmph speed from zilch
is attained within 20 seconds( approximately) . Top speed
on offer is around 115 kmph. Fuel economy isn’t as
impressive as one would expect, even on the long stretch
the bike does not deliver an excellent efficiency, hence
Gixxer is mediocre when it comes to mileage.
Suzuki Gixxer Braking and Handling
A single disc brake is placed in front to retard power and
rear gets a drum brake. Steering is agile and the
suspension system is slightly stiff which features 41mm
large diameter forks in front and 7 step adjustable mono
shock suspension at rear. The bike distorts after being
driven for a while, but it gets back to normal as you go
easy on the throttle. However, the bike lacks any
prominent safety feature like anti-lock-braking system
etc.
Suzuki Gixxer Wheels & Tyres
Up front, Gixxer gets 100/80-17 tubeless tyre and rear
features 140/60R-17 tubeless tyre. Moreover, the tyres
have a good grip on the road and have a peppy cornering
ability. This in turn also works well for braking function.
Competition
In the 150cc segment, Gixxer faces competition from
bikes like Yamah FZS, Bajaj Discover 150F and Honda CB
Unicorn 160 CBS.
