This Suzuki GS 150R is at best a conservative bike with a bigger engine(think middle aged banker wearing a T-shirt instead of a sharp 3 piece suit) and as such performance is nothing to write home about. It has all the righ bits and bobs but at 13.8bhp the power output is merely acceptable at best since the game has already moved on.
Where it does come into its element however is in giving the average commuter with some sporty aspirations a good, stable and comfortable platform to get from point A to point B. With an upright seating position and conventional frame layout it is clear to suggest that it has no sporty aspirations whatsoever.Take it out on the road and the engine is very stress and vibe free.
Performance is unhurried and the bike smoothly accelerates to a top speed in excess of 100kmph. The slick gearbox is an absolute delight to use though and coupled with the engine, comfortable seating position and neutral handling ability will leave the rider feeling fresh even after long distance commutes.
The steering and handling geometry is mild at best and the suspension and brakes work well to ensure adequate braking and high stability. The front 240 mm disc brake is a delight to use and efficiently brings the bike to a stop in a hassle-free manner.
