Hi Folks,
I am writing this review on GS150R after 11 months of purchasing and riding this bike in Bangalore. I am 45yrs old 6.1ft tall and weight 75kg. I am driving bikes from 25 yrs and cars since 13yrs. I gave my profile for you to better understand this review.
I purchased this bike purely by the looks and the Digital instrument console. Alas I wish I had gone by my instincts which said - you hardly see any GS150R in Bangalore. The sales guy also said that he hardly sells 70 bikes per month in Bangalore.
My biggest grouse is that the engine is pathetic. I have faced misfire issues and have visited the Advaith service center in Basavangudi at least 15 times. The Suzuki company engineers also have checked my bike, however have not been able to diagnose the issue.
The misfire occurs after running the bike for 10km or more meaning when the engine gets hot.
The second surprising issue I have noticed is that the bike handles poorly when you have a pillion. The center of gravity shifts towards the back which causes you to loose balance when riding at <25km/hr in traffic.
Third - the rear shocks are hard when riding single.
Fourth - Even though it is 150cc bike the engine groans at higher RPM and cries to cross 75km/hr
So unlike my fellow Bangaloreans I have not made an smart and wise decision in buying this bike. Hope you all think hard before deciding on one !!
