Story:

The writer of this book is Dr. Sharon Moalem, whom you may not have heard about. That’s the reason I was not sure whether to pick up the book and give it a shot. But, don’t just go by the writer’s name. The book is not a New York Times bestseller for nothing. As the writer’s name(the title to be precise) must have rung a bell, the book indeed relates to the medical field. It is about various diseases and disorders, many of which you might not even be aware of but don’t get me wrong.

This one’s not a textbook for a medical science student. On the contrary, the author questions some of medical sciences’ age old textbook theories. And, this is what is interesting about this book. The book actually relates “evolution” with diseases and disorders.

The author’s premise is that there’s a positive reason behind diseases of the mankind. When you would read the book, you would realize for yourself how much research the author must have done before coming up with the book. I say that because his arguments and explanations are very convincing. I really liked the language used by the author. It’s simple to read and at the same time has an interesting flavor to it. The author has ingested humor every now and then which does not let the reader feel bored at any time. This is a stronghold of this book keeping in mind the subject it deals with. I mean, the medical books section is probably the last in a library where I would look for a book. I think this book is an essential read for everyone as it imparts very valuable information in a very interesting manner.

To the medical field, it will provide insights into many unknown areas which may in turn may become breeding grounds for much needed and much helpful discoveries and inventions.
