My first review of the last movie that I saw. It promised a lot but failed to meet expectations.
The movie is about a composer Vikramaditya Singh(Lucky Ali) who loves music more than anything in his life .He wants somebody who can carry forward his work , somebody who is good enough to do so , somebody with whom he can share his wealth of Music.
Enter Tina (Gauri Karnik) , a gifted girl , with a melodious voice but who is untrained. Ali taker her away to his school , trains her, against the liking of the teachers and students of his music school.
Tina shines , shines bright, but threatens to shine brighter than Vikramaditya Singh himself which he cannot take. His ensuing jealousy and then his repentance is all that SUR is about.
Performance wise Lucky Ali has done well .His jealousy for the prodigy has been dealt with aptly. Gauri Karnik is completely lost in the movie . She need to do a lot better than that. Divya Dutta screms at the top of her voice whenever she gets a chance .Simione (Heena ) Singh delivers a controlled performance . The highlights of the movie is the songs sung by Ali himself (Aa bhi ja) and (Tu...) . The movie falls apart in the second half and has an ending that is tepid.
The movie is worth a watch solely for Lucky Ali i.e if you are an ardent Lucky Ali fan , go and watch the movie.
