We have our own goals and ambition in our life.   Many leave their ambitions in the half way for something easy to achieve.   Some survive hard hitting waves of hindrances to sail through.     Hope of future is the fuel one carry in such journeys.    Pleasure of achievements and huge icebergs of difficulties tempt the sailor to continue or quit the journey.   Some times we reach to some shores which we were not expecting.  Some times we reach the shores but for our astonishment it is not a pleasant experience.

Kunal(Kunal Kemu) plays the talented and ambitious youngster whose life ambition is to become a superstar.    His mother(Reema Lagoo), childhood friend Mausam(Tulip Joshi) & few handfuls of friends support him and celebrate even his small achievements.   He is looking for a  break which he hope can take him to stardom.  Given his talents he is confident of it.  His father (Sharad Saxena) supports him too, but always reminds him to take life seriously and earn something as he is already late to start.   Things get a twist when the famous producer Saxena(Darshan Jariwala) announces a new film featuring his son Karan Saxena(Kunal Kemu, double role) whose photo which came in the paper looks same as that of Kunal.  This gave Kunal instant fame among friends and neighbours but it was short lived.   Karan is a spoiled child with good heart and his actings skills is almost zero.   He is fearful of height and adventures.  He is in love with Barka(Aushny Sawhney) who plays the lead role in the proposed film.   Kunal take up the role as a junior artist to make the film possible, playing the role of Karan.  For a shooting assignment both of them went to Bangkok where they become friends.  However fate takes the lead role where the new found friends met an accident on which one is dead…We are just finished the interval and remaining is there for you to watch in the movie.

The movie was quite impressive throughout the first half and after the interval I was expecting the movie to peak to new heights, given the fact that the suspense is broken soon after the interval.  However the story wandered around and surrounded the suspense to reach no where by end, at least for the audience.  Had the writers been little more cautious in their attempt this film would have been a good surprise.  Various faults from the writers keep the movie as an average fare with its own faults.   The writers didn’t allow the characters to grow.   Thumps down to the writers!   The Director deserves applauds for this brilliance in various departmentsof film making, except script selection/correction.  I am sure he will learn the lesson from the movie’s fate that the first duty of a director is to look for a good script and make sure the script is tight enough to hold the grip and make sense.  With a good script with the same set of cast the director can surely do wonders.

Kunal Kemu is the pleasant package of the film.   The actor is brilliant and surely he deserves a better spot in Bollywood.  He is talented, he is young and energetic.   Excellent Kunal!.    Tulip Joshi did her role good, but she didn’t have much to perform.   Aushima Sawhney is hot, but limited to a small role and looks elderly to Kunal.  Some young faces would have been better.   The writer’s didn’t utilize the possibility of the character or situation to grow the character.   Sharad Saxena and Darshan Jariwala had their own moments in the film and proved a point or two otherwise rest of the cast was ok with their roles.

Music department has done a very good job.   ’Man Tu Talbat’  ’Ajnabi’ and most of the songs are good one another.   They came as moaning of a sorrowful soul and the wave echoes in our ears as waves of the sea, one after another.   We carry those songs in our heart for a night to sleep and wake up in the morning to find it is still there.   Brilliant!

Action scenes were quite good where cinematography was sufficient.  Editing was poor and choreography was average(lack of funds shows).

The movie was good in the first half where the second half was murdered by the writers, with too much of sentiments in the first 20 minutes, lack of progress in the next 20 minutes and with lack of logic in the last 20 minutes.

Just consider few flaws: *

A producer is introducing his son as super star and papers give the news with photo.   In the morning there is a big crowd before Kunal’s house assuming it is he who is going to star in it.  How?   Didn’t the papers give the name of the producer and the relation with the star and his name?

The junior artist was shooting for the star before the accident and the entire set know who is who and knows who can do what.  After the accident they could easily identify the survivor.

TV Reporter keeps hidden cameras in Saxena’s house and get live information who is the survivor and do nothing about it.

Saxena promised to keep the golden goose with him but shows no plan or attempts to do that.

Overall, the movie is an average fare but it is ok for a one time watch.   For Kunal Kemu fans it is a good treat, they should not miss this film.       For the people who associated with the film it is an opportunity wasted.

*Kunal, you have a long way to go and stay on course.  You can be a superstar…if you have luck with you!
