The super selector show by ESPN-STAR SPORTS is a wonderful game show which has not been played after the 2003 world cup.
Its a unique game show where the viewer really participates and always have a chance to win if you really follow the game closely. It is basically based on international cricket matches- you have to choose 11 players for your side who you think will be performing better than the others in a given time period. But you can't choose all the superstars in your team because they are all assigned some rating points (maximum 150) and the team you choose of eleven players should not have total rating points more than 1000. You can change your players before a match but the rating points of eleven should never exceed 1000 points.
There have been tremendous response from viewers for this competition with some really fabulous prizes.
The idea behind this game show is really good. But certain modifications were unnecessary- like substitutions of any number of players, daily competition etc- this really kills the charm of the month-long competitions- luck factor in this case becomes more important than your selection acumen.
Also giving away prizes to the lucky persons whose names are generated by the computer is not a very good idea. Giving away prizes to more people (like first 50 or 100 among the 2-3 lakh participants) would be welcomed by the partcipants of this super selector competition.
Anyway, I am looking for the restart of the super selector!
