This Pyaar has NO Side Effects. Review on Sunsilk Shampoo

Dear Diary,

As you know I am celebrating my birthday today along with my landlady, Miss Rapunzel!!! Its 40 odd years today although I don’t wish to reveal it… but then dear diary, you are my confidante!! So, today, I want to share with you the journey of my life and maybe if you land in the hands of Mahesh Bhatt he might make Wo Lamhe Part 2!!! I am giving hints for songs too so he can remix them and release them as his own!!!

I am one among the thousands siblings here and we all form the tresses of our maiden. I do not know my biological name but they call me by a lot of names- "hair", "locks", "tresses", "mane"... I am supposed to be 88% protein, 0.02mm - 0.04mm in thickness and as strong as an iron wire. I break when a force beyond 60 kgs is applied and grow an average 0.30 mm per day. The life expectancy of a single strand of hair is between two and six years. (But I am an exception and have been blessed with longevity :) A normal scalp has 100,000 - 150,000 of my sibling!!!. I have always enthralled the poets and inspired them to write on me... I have been mentioned in the epic , Mahabharatha too... no points for guessing why :)

OK enough of gyan, the main point is that I am love struck…. I am in love. Let me take you back in time…

When we were kids, we had a lovely time being pampered. Rapunzel’s mother used to take utmost care of us. She gave us the right amount of coconut oil to drink and boy!! it was amazing, intoxicating and invigorating. We all went into a trance after that!!

She also used the right shampoos (they call it Johnson!!) in right quantities. The shampoo never hurt our skin. She took care to dry us well after our bath… never used those driers and blowers on us. So, we never got burnt or dried up. It was always a soft towel touching us… so we never got man(!!)-handled. Auntyji used to make cute braids and we were always prim and proper. Not an inch out of place!!! I stood so tall and proud.

After some years, I heard her telling her mom “Mamma, I am in teens, now, I know how to take care of my hair”… hmmmm what do I say to this, now!!! She made my life miserable!! She was worse than those stepmothers of Bollywood!! I wish I could make her go through the tortures she made me go through. Every month she used to try some new shampoo – whichever was shown on the idiot box or some magazine. Wish she had understood that frequent change of shampoos isn’t good. If one shampoo left flakes at my foot, the other shampoo would rob me of my essential oils!!! She also tried lots of gel and poked me with pins …. And drove me to the point of suicide!!! Many of my brothers and sisters could not bear the brunt and fell away….

"Pal pal hai bhari jo bipda ye aayi... mohe bachane ab aao raghurai :((("

It was during this point in my life that I met my first love. Rapunzel saw some him standing tall on the counter in Big Bazar!!! I dont know what she thought but she picked him up. I dreaded another encounter!!!

The next day, she took a wee bit of him and when she actually applied him, my heart melted :) It was love at first touch!!!! It was "pehla nasha, pehla khumar" (again!!!) I was smitten. The bubbles and lather of our love foamed as they show in Bollywood!!. He made me feel young, he made me feel soft, he helped me not to get entangled with my other bros and sis and also stopped them from falling. He made me smell good too. No more dandruffs!!! My life became a bed of roses.... and to this day, I am glad that Rapunzel decided to stick to him - He is none other than my heartthrob SUNSILK!!!!

I came to know later that He came to India in 1964 and he also got his brother shampoo with conditioner in 1987. The best part about him is that Sunsilk has identified different hair needs and offers the consumer a shampoo that gives her the desired results. He has specialized cousins like Black for long and shiny hair, Purple with ceramides for damaged hair, Fruitamines for volume etc He has an anti-dandruff cousin as well with ingredients like curd and lemon!!! Then there is one more - a Curl Control shampoo to impart manageability to curly, wavy, flyaway hair problems... I don’t know many of his cousins.. havent met them yet… All I know is that He makes me feel good!!!.

You can have him in bottles of 100, 200, 300 ml and also in sachets.

There have been talks of some harmful chemicals called Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulphate and GHTC (conditioner) in him. But then the quantity is quite low. And to tell you the truth, in todays world is there anything totally clean and pious? Coca cola? Pepsi? Chocolates? Maggi? All those preservatives? Unless we decide to give up the artificial and man made substance totally, we would need to compromise to some extent. So,

All in all, I love Sunsilk. It keeps me going strong. It gives me a reason to live(!!!!)

So, dear diary, now that you know my big secret and may be everyone will soon get to know...
