So this one is a shack located in Betalbatiem at around 2 kms to the right from the famous colva beach. The place is an absolute delight since it’s one of those right facing the beach. Also a cool hangout place for the couples since it has a special setting outdoor tables.
LOCATION:-
Located about 2 kms down south from the famous Colva beach is this place. The best way to direct anyone who wants to be here would be take the first right on your way to the beach, to be more precise, this turn is about 700 mts from the beach and located right in front of the famous Bollywood resort.
AMBIANCE:-
The place has a calming aura especially for its location on the beach side. The place is quiet and mostly flocked by the foreign tourists who come to the nearby beaches. With the kind of atmosphere there is, you’ll be able to sit here for hours.
The restaurant has it’s own parking space .
SERVICE:-
I’ll say the service is okayish(i’av had better). The staff is polite .It’s just about the time they take to get the food to the table.
MENU:-
Well moving up to the main thing about this review. The food here is pretty displeasing.
If you expect to come here and get food as good as the aura, you are mistaken. This is not the one for the foodies. Ofcourse lovebirds can flock here and have their moments. But again not the couple who are in it for a good share of dining experience.
The starters are good .Well some of them, the fish is fresh, some chicken dishes could have been better, not writing them off completely on this one. But it’s the main course that really gets me worried. You order a gravy, may it be butter chicken or some spicy one for that matter and be prepared for the disappointment to come your way.
The Chicken Biryani of this place is one I’d never recommend any one to have. It’s just all oil spilling out from everything and tasteless as it may get. I have been to this place like about 4-5 times and it was the same thing time and again.
Leaving out for the other things, the only thing good in food here is their Chicken steak. The steak was well cooked every time I had it. And they have some nice sauces to ease it up with. The pepper sauce is the most preferred one. Also you’ll get some side ons like the baby corn and the boiled veggies.
PRICES and QUANTITY:-
The prices are about Rs 700/- approx. For 2 people. That’s not too much if you go visit a shack restaurant. That’s how the prices are everywhere else. The starters are priced okay. The steak comes in around Rs 250/-(subject to change*) which is also quite good.
Now the quantity of starters was great. Not so about the gravies. The Biryani comes in a good quantity but then the quality is bad.
FINAL TAKE:-
You know what they say about flowers. The ones that look good might not have a scent to please you. My advice to you would be, Don’t go here if you expect a wonderful treat, you will be utterly disappointed if you step in with high expectations. Whereas, there’s Mickey’s Bar and Restaurant adjacent to it. And a distance of about 10 mts separates the two . It might be a little heavy on your pocket but than Good food, good view is your thing.then you know.
