Good things first.


Watching HD on my 46 Bravia was brilliant.  Add to that 5.1 surround sound.  Apart from NatGeo and Discovery, they had Sun TV and a Telugu channel in HD.   The best moment was watching FIFA World cup 2010 on ESPN HD for a limited time


It was going great until the Martians burned their zone on the satellite.


Initially they flashed on screen that a service rep will visit our home, I thought its a good gesture, but weeks after weeks nothing happened. No one bothered to call let alone visit.


They changed their tune and flashed on their info channel asking us to contact the customer service to schedule a visit by the technicians.


I did.      No one cared to follow up.  Its been two months now.


As I was busy with work, I was unable to call them up again all these days.   My TV time was taken away by you-tube anyway.   But, I've already spent 10k and its good for another 6 months or so.


Some one from Sun called me 2 weeks ago and said she will send a technician the very next day.No one bothered to call or visit.


And that made me call  them again a while ago.


All the rep said was to escalate my woes to her boss and was unable to schedule a visit by technician. Never gave any time frame to resolve the issue.


Yeah, I spoke in vernacular but I was shocked to learn they talk like automated voice machines, come on guys, its local language, can't they speak normally.


I did write a mail in their Contact Us page asking them for a refund and take the damned thing away.


About their STB? it deserves to be stuffed into unbelievable places


Update on 6-01-2011


Two days ago a technician came to our home.   I asked him if he would like to recalibrate the dish.  He said it is not required as HD dishes are huge.   He just updated the software from the Menu.  Thats it.


I asked him why didn't the costumer service people never briefed me about this?  All they do is take the complaint and never bother to troubleshoot from their side.


The issue has been resolved.   Next  time I face any issues I guess I will troubleshoot myself and only rely on them as a last resort.
