I have SUN DIRECT HD (High Definition) Connection since last 11 months and its been a pain in a wrong place. I had taken this connection with one year amount given as advance.


I started getting some issues wherein I logged a complaint with Sun Direct Call center and they said...technician will come to my home. I followed with numerous calls and with emails to nodal office (nodalkar@sundirect.in) I called up the distributor as well (GEEKAY - 080-32211322 and 080-41521296)....


The managers (Uday & Narayan) were extremely rude and after a lot of discussion and a month, a technician named Kumar came to my home and informed me that the set topx needs to be sent across to Samsung to get it rectified. It took almost 2 weeks when it came back. It worked fine for couple of days and I faced same issue. This time another lady picked up at GEEKAY and the same technician came to my house. He took away my set top box and the Viewing card and cam back with a different set top box & a different Viewing card after a week.


This also worked for a week and now I get just the blue screen when I switch on the Set top box. I spoke to two ladies at Geekay and they promised me someone will come on 31st Mar. It's 6th Apr today and noone has turned up. I tried calling them up and they have stopped picking up my call. Today, I called them up from my office no. and the same lady picked up. She informed me that Kumar will come to my home today. When I asked her to let me speak to the Manager....she said she has spoken to him and the technician will come and she kept down the phone.


I have parallely sent 5 emails to nodal office because they do not pick up the landline no. they have provided and there is no response.


I am looking out for the process to take it forward in consumer court. Incase any one of you are aware of the same...please send it to me or post it over here...so that I can take it up.


I am now planning to go for Dish or Tata Sky as the normal cable is horrible in my area who is trying to sell his home grown set top box. I have a Samsung LED 46 inch and I would like to enjoy the high definition.


My experience has been extremely bad with Sun Direct and Geekay. I would not recommend anyone to for this.


Infact the call center guys will not allow you to speak to their Supervisor and these bunch of nuts are based out of Chennai...and you can not catch hold of them. One of the call center agents informed me that since I am out of chennai...it is difficult for them to provide a good service...And I was stunned.


So guys please be aware of the cheats (SUN DIRECT)
