Actually I had thought of writing a blog about it tomorrow. But as I am awake right now, and sleep somehow is taken away from me tonight, I thought of doing it right now when the sweet taste and dark color is fresh in my eyes. When I had first heard of the movie name and about the all lady cast, I wasn’t much impressed(All lady case and a U/A stuff, you know what I mean:) but when I was coming out the theater I had a completely different state of mind.

Think of blazing guns, think of shiny bloodstained swords, think of armor piercing shells, think of orcs, think of dragons, think of Nazi WW2 landscape… add a little Bullet time technique and then keep all of this on the Zach Snyder burner… Woah, what you get is the flaming hot, Sucker Punch. I agreed for the movie was not because of the plot of promos but the director Zack Snyder. The 300’s director deserved that respect. The movie was true to 300’s reputation as well.

The music plays very vital role in the film, mostly remixed it contains tracks from Evanescence, Marlin Manson, and Jefferson Airplane, which I can remember. Music plays a crucial role for it’s the drug keeping people in trance in the film so all the tracks are mastered and rightfully placed. I wasn’t surprised to see Tyler Bates returning(from 300) to give music to this one as well.

The action and cinematography of the movie is mind blowing. All the video game fans out there, those who love, the battle games, those who love Unreal Tournament, those who love epics like Peter Jackson’s LOTR, make sure you do not miss this one. Please make a note that I do not bluff when I say you can see a dragon chasing WW2 make plane, or loads of orcs getting shattered by armor piercing bullets. As I mentioned earlier, the Bullet time has added the charm to make the events more spectacular, allowing you to savor tiny bits of every action sequence. At least when the movie is in the fantasy world you’d not want to move from your chair. That being said, I would also want to note that if the bullet time is removed then the length of the movie might reduce to half and this is not an overstatement.

Praising the movie that much does not conclude the experience though, something the movie entirely lacks would be a strong underlying storyline. It has become a time-proven(Matrix, Inception) theoretical method to justify anything out of the boundaries which Physics and other sciences allow, is to push this content in someone’s mind. That being said, most of the movie takes place in Emily Browning’s mind and so the director and action choreographer have a playing field with virtually no rules. You have a cross fade of multiple timelines, and to justify that you have to prove someone insane. I would not count this as a deal breaker though. 300 too didn’t have a thick underlying plot so to speak. Some guys are masters of execution; they don’t want to plan much. The visual appeal this movie has is truly spectacular, so it covers all the bases it was set to cover.

At the end of it all, I’d say if you’d wish to watch it, reach your nearest theater, on small PC/TV screens, the movie is not of much worth.
