Kolkata or the City of Joy is well known for its exotic dishes and food restaurants owing to the elaborate number of food lovers residing in the city. The city is a host of numerous food joints that has been serving the taste buds of its residents since time immemorial. And the huge demand of foreign dishes have led to the establishment of several food parlors that serve foreign food.
Subho Chinese Food Hut is a new addition to the city’s collection of food parlors. The shop is located in the New Alipore region of the city. The place is a good location to have a refreshing treat however there are a few drawbacks that make it strictly avoidable and thus, it can be ignored.
Subho Chinese Food Hut has a very poor maintenance. Since the restaurant has opened recently, the management is not good. People are often seen confusing their orders and staring at each other for a long time without any sign of food. When I visited the place, it was heavily crowded and it took me almost 15 minutes to spot a waiter so as to place my order. The system is not great. The waiter who had received my order confused it with someone else and for something as simple as ‘Chinese Manchurian’, I had to wait for more than half an hour.
Secondly, what I didn’t like about the food joint is its ambience. The food hut is located just beside the main road and attracts a lot of dust and dirt. The food is not covered which makes it a bad choice for hygienic freaks. Moreover, people seating arrangement is not too much and hence in times of over-crowded hours, there is a huge mess. Since the restaurant is new, it does attract customers and this leads to congested environment as the place is too small.
Finally, the major drawback of the Subho Food Hut is its food preparation time and quality. I am a college student residing in Kolkata and I have had way better dishes than the Subho Chinese food joint. For example, the Sher-e-Punjab restaurant serving fast foods is a brilliant alternative to this food hut. The people of the Subho restaurant take way too much time for the preparation of their food. So much waiting isn’t worth it when the food you get at last isn’t that great. Like, I had only ate Manchurian in this place, but my friends have tasted several dishes and we didn’t have any opinion to return their again.
The food hut is new and striving hard to make a place in the market. However, they need some serious rearrangements in order to grab the public praise. First and foremost, the dishes should be a little tastier because there are several other food joints that does a better job than them. Secondly, the management should be a little active and responding. If these things are dealt with, it will turn out to be an ideal hangout for fast food lovers.
