I bought a Su-kam Sinewave 1400 VA inverter/UPS and two SU-kam batteries in October 2007. The inverter carries a two year warranty and the batteries carry 18 months warranty. Since the last one month my inverter has started giving me trouble. I called there customer service and they immediately sent an illiterate technician. He came, did not listen to us what are the problems, fidlled with a few buttons and said it's going to be fine.


That particular night the inverter blew off to dead. Next morning again after complainin the same technician came and changed the fuse and the inverter started working but not upto it's efficiency. On several complaints I was told the dealer who sold us the batteries, provided us with faulty battery or spoilt the battery while filling water in it and they will only have to replace or repair that.


On calling the dealer home, they said the faulty battery was provided by the company ie SU-KAM. Ihave another 40 days left till my warranty gets over for the batteries and these two companies are playing a blame game with me so that somehow they can keep misleading us and the warranty period gets over.


Some interesting facts: When I called up the customer service and said them these are the problems and how should it be handled, I got a reply that their job is just taking complaints and mailing that to the concerned department, they do not have any further say on that. I wrote a few emails to their customer service, but no replies till date.


I am one of those few consumers in India who have taught good lessons to companies like COMPAQ, GO AIR, JOURNEYMART.COM, by logging case against them in Consumer Courts and getting suitable solution with rewards. I have got excellent reply and solution just by writing a review on MOUTHSHUT against YATRA.COM.


I will fight against SU-KAM starting today till I get my battery changed and also get compensated for all the troubles I am facing. And I will keep updating the review time to time so that others can also benefit from such actions in future.


But honestly, I feel it's useless to go for such big brands who survive just on their brand image and take customers for granted.
