TIME PASS. Review on Style Songs

N. Chandra makes a comeback of sorts with this teen flick, Style. A typical time pass album that is meant to be heard leaving all sensibilities aside. In the same league as Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega.

The album starts off with Yeh Hai Style. A pretty catchy song with lyrics that are very apt for the generation of today that is so style conscious. Good singing by Abhijeet and KK. Excuse Me looks set to be the next in line for the song that will classify as an anthem for roadside Romeos. Nitin Raikwar, Nisha and Simmie have a ball singing this outrageous number. As if this were not enough, one has to bear a remixed version too on side B.

In Style Mein Rehne Ka one gets to hear Vinod Rathod after a long time along with Sonu Nigam. No great shakes though. A very ‘Tapori” kind of song but fails to grab your attention. Again, like the previous number, this too has a remixed version on Side B. Mohabbat Ho Na Jaye has shades of the popular “Alabina” plus a lot of other songs. A strong Arabic flavour marks the entire song. The singers Abhijeet and Hema Sardesai do full justice to the song. Udit Narayan and Sunidhi Chauhan sing the same with equal ease on Side B. This song is followed by the Theme Music which hardly lasts for a minute.

The other two numbers Miss Dil & Mr. Dil and Jaan Meri Jaan Hai Tu are very average and have nothing new to offer. While the former has KK and Hema Sardesai singing together, the latter is sung by Sapna Mukherjee and Mohini who sounds very out of tune.

This album is sure to be panned by critics but for people looking at time pass stuff, then this is the one for you !!!!
