Sciences or engineering. Review on Studying in India Vs. Studying Abroad

I am currently in class 12 and require a bit of suggestions or some sort of advice from you all. actually I am in a bit dilemma right now which i know is not right at this stage. actually the problem is that I am having a sort of interest in mathematics and want to study for maths olympiad.

But I know that since I am in 12th there would be some restrictions on my selection over there. I do feel there is a sort of risk involved in studying for olympiad right now.

Actually one of my seniors in the school got qualified for imo (international mathematics olympiad) twice and this year he also qualified jee with good rank. I also wish to study for both and qualify both. but since I have not utilized my class 11th very well for iit preparation I really feel a lot of risk involved when I study for olympiad.

I also do have some interest in engineering, computers and softwares and do realise that there is much more money in engineering career and money is very important in today's world. but again there's that fantasy in my mind regarding getting into imo team of india and participating over there. last year I reached upto inmo (indian national mathematics olympiad) but couldn't study properly thereafter since I had also joined iit coaching. I hope some of  you would understand my problem and give some advice in this regard.
