We initially gathered details about your cottage by seeing trip advisor and your impressive website. As we were impressed seeing this, we booked your place for a night on 13th and 14th of November, 2010.
Even while we had conversations, the way you communicated to us brought us confidence about your place.
But when we landed there, really everything was totally opposite. My friends came from Singapore and U.K. and were really disappointed to see the way you organized the things.
First we booked three stilts cottages. But when we reached there they said you have booked a twin cottage and a single stilt cottage. Even we had the proof and carried the email that you confirmed us before. Despite those they said (your so called rude manager), "No. We received the bookings as 1 Twin cottage and 1 Stilt cottage". Even though after showing the proof they were arguing the same.
Since we were there to enjoy our self, we decided not to quarrel on things and stayed in "their own choice". Please understand here, "we were forced to stay on your own choice". Rite. Again initially while we had the conversation through phone, you clearly mentioned about the prices of food and said that they are unlimited. But again that didn't happen. We were charged for everything that we asked for the second time. Can you imagine, we had just 10 chapathis for 7 people? Will that be sufficient enough?
And for an extra fish fry they charged us Rs. 140/- per fish!!!. Even in a city like Bangalore which is far far away from seas, costs only 120 per kg and that too in Reliance Fresh where they include taxes and VATs. Don't you think this to be ridiculous? Don't you feel ashamed of robbing the money and cheating the guests? The next day we got our food from outside and we had our breakfast. You know how much we paid? We paid merely Rs. 400/- for 7 persons (which had 21 appam, 14 parottas, 14 puttu with chicken curry and 6 fish fry). Still we have the bill from the hotel. But the previous night we were charged for Rs. 1500/- (which just had some 14 chapathis and 6 fish fry and normal meals). When we asked a person who was in charge, he said "Even there is a family staying in a cottage. We gave the same quantity of food. They said it was more. I don't know why you say like this?". Even we saw that family which had a mid aged couple with a small kid (less than 5 years) and a old woman.
Definitely it would be sufficient for 4 but not 7!!! The next thing is, it has been clearly mentioned in website that you have separate room for drivers and they are free of charge. Where are they? Our driver didn't even get a single blanket. Looks too crazy. Then came the cottages named as chozha and some other kings name... I
am asking you simply, do you know who Chozha was? Do you know about their hospitality? Have you at least read about those great Tamil kings? I don't know how come you named the cottages like this... The rooms were very very very untidy. The floors which were in red, really we weren't able to keep our foot as it was that much untidy and unhygienic. When we opened our cupboards to pull out the extra blankets, it was full of dust and black patches and literally we puked. And we didn't even had a telephone to call the "so called room
service". We had to walk down every time to en quire things (even to order a coffee). It was mentioned as 24 hours hot water service.
Where were they? They said we need to turn on the gas to heat the water and again we had to go down to say those "pity looked" small boys (even they were kind and helped us much). After some 5 minutes when the water is half of the bucket again it stopped and it was cold!!!. And the toilet in so called "Chozha" had no flush!!!. We
literally poured water by filling it in the bucket. Really we had a tough time... You charge 3000/- per cottage and the people around there don't even have the courtesy to at least provide us some normal drinking water (you can charge them at the end), but when we asked about that they said you need to call to the room service (but there
was no phone). I don't know how the highly rated Kerala Tourism granted permission to run a resort in a pathetic condition.
Finally the behavior of your so called manager. What ever we enquired him, he didn't even bother to reply. When we came to know that we didn't have separate cottages, we asked for the cottages at the ground level. He replied everything was booked and we don't have vacancy.
The same night we were walking through the resort and we found everything was empty literally!!! Even the next day when we were clicking the photographs around we saw them it was empty and we asked the house keeping boys and they said no land level cottages have been booked!!!.
The only advantage we saw were the landscapes maintained well and TV that worked fine. Apart from that everything was pathetic and worst. After settling the bills and things, we thought that WE LITERALLY THREW RS. 11000/- INTO A RUNNING POND!!! I DON'T KNOW WHETHER YOU WILL READ THE MAIL OR SIMPLY IGNORE THE SAME BUT REALLY "STREAM VALLEY" IS A WORTHLESS BAUBLE!!!
To be frank we have been to several resorts across India and Singapore, we didn't have a experience like this despite India especially Kerala which is being called as "ADITI DEVO BAVA". I don't know whether you know the meaning. (Hospitality is first)!!!
