Stomp the Yard is something like HONEY if you've seen it. HONEY was about a diehard dance teacher, and this is about a student caught in the wrong dance unit.
What happens here is that, our hero goes with his kin to a dance bar. Some challenging and fight gets cookin, and then one dies. This makes our hero go to a school far away to his uncle's city, now you know what happens. - hero starts dancin, gets popularity, line mars principal's daughter, uncle's flashback - ending with a successful dance and a successful love. Phew! This is what makes me bored, I can predict the story.
But frankly, a dance story cant be very different, maybe the formula should change in every way for that to happen. The hip-hop is very cool, especially some steps like the bouncing in the beginning - wow! The light effects and music is very impressive.
You can check it once - and it's decent, take my word. The last scene is good too where the main dance comes, and the heroic attempt is when our hero does his dead friend's step to grab the whole audience! That is really breathtaking.
