It is an inspiring book for all of us to absorb and replicate however little or more. It runs in to 500 or odd pages and is a thrilling note of his life and Apple creation. But you need time to read it.
The author of the book had written some biographies earlier but more than the appreciation of the writing style, what comes about cleanly is the life of Steve Jobs. His unprecedented rise and how without him the company would not do well and like a czar he would come back and reinstate the company to its lost glory.
It is also inspiring that he had no management degree or a guru that he could speak of to do well in his field. How his inimitable zeal for a perfect product where ‘simple is the ultimate sophistication’ made his products stand out.
I was just wondering how Apple came about and I knew good deal after reading about it in the book.
He is one of them who had all bad things to say when cometh the younger days like acid and sorts. How he came to India and learnt a few things. How he remained dirty during some period of time till he became famous.
How from nothing he created something for mankind which nobody knew could be created. But how he kept telling himself in the world of his own that he was not far from it and eventually made it.
His products right from computers to mac to ipod, ipad, iphones would create a revolution of sorts and he made which was not attempted before.
How he had overcome adverse situations and come back to deliver what would have been impossible without him.
He has his share of stories of families and relationships and how he lived through them.
This book is especially good for people who are in start-ups, who don’t know where they are going and how to approach the unknown. Something in him saw the right thing which will click and it did and he kept refining till the last space.
There are some parts in the book which are difficult to understand if you are a non-techie, but overall the book makes a lot of sense to read and learn from.
Also, great to note that he was not after money but he was bent on making it good in his work.
We also learn that it can be exhausting working for two companies with vigor all the time and one needs to worry as much for the health as much for other things.
Overall, recommended to read and get inspired, know Apple, and his life.
