I recently opened an account with SBI and then I realize then instead of them I was providing services to them. I was frustrated because of many reasons on this bank, first they are still untouched with the use of new technology which can make their customers very happy, but they do not wan to that to happen. Even if you want to add a beneficiary to your account, you have to visit their branch for that, then only you can transfer funds to that beneficiary. In today's time when every thing is going digital, they want their customers to use paper and they require handwritten applications in may cases. Only thing which is good about them is network of their ATM. Website interface for online banking is not as good as it couled be, (They should learn from ICICI Bank here). They are not very good at phone banknig as well, like many times I do not get an SMS for the transactions, though the deduct the charges timely basis for this service. Now they have started charging their customer for depositing and withdrawing cash as well, This is so irritating that I am going to close this account shortly. In terms of charges and various other terms as well I will recommand ICICI over SBI.
