Some peculiar rules and regulations created by SBI make people harassed by converting a minor issue into a very major issue.
I have faced such a minor problem but its rules make it a major problem and I am not being able to see any solution of my in recent future. I lived in a village. In Dumdum, where I used to stay from 1996 to 2006, had an account in Gora bazar branch. I made that account with my voter id card, which was of the address of my village. And for residential proof I submitted a certificate from the councillor of the local area.
After that when I got service and wanted to change the address they told that only voter id card and electric bill is valid. As I didn't have any electrical bill where I stayed at that time I had to change it to the address of voter id card i.e., of my village.
Thereafter I bought a flat in sodpur and now I got my electric bill and voter id card in sodpur. But my adhar card is of my village address as it was made before buying of flat. And as I am trying to change the address to my flat address, THEY ARE TELLING THAT VOTER ID CARD AND ELECTRIC BILL IS VALID NOW, ONLY THE ADDRESS OF ADHAR CARD IS CONSIDERED AS VALID.
So as of now, I am not being able to change the address to my present address because of the whimsical rules of SBI.
Not only that this bank is the only bank because of which I had to delay in buying a flat for 2 years. I got a second hand flat in 2010 at a very low rate. I went to sbi palta branch for loan. The manager, after checking my salary slip, told me that no bank will give u loan in that salary. I got demotivated and left hope of buying a flat. But after 2 years when I went UBI, the manager told me that the salary was enough to get that flat. And I had to buy that type of flat at a high rate.
I don't understand why they do so. Why SBI ask for such documents for a loan which other nationalised bank like UBI, Allahabad bank don't ask.
