My ordeal began like this
i was booking tickets thro irctc portal since long. along came the tie-up between sbi & irctc. I was very happy that the railways and the india's no one bank together will be wonderful. sbi can never behave like pvt banks. no unnecessary debits to your accounts. no disapperance of money from your sb account left unattended for a couple of years.
irctc portal offered credit cards which will not charge service charges for ticket booking.
I fell for it. today I am a proud owner of a sbi-irctc card. well.. that is, till I made a payment that they never received!!
when my bill for aug 06 was recd the same was immediately paid in full and my chq duly honoured. after few days the nightmare began...
every day, when I was in the bath, when I was in the wash, when I was eating, when I was driving, when I was in important business meetings, ... I started getting this payment followup calls.
atleast 6/8 calls a day. initially very patiently I gave all particulars. the person who takes the details seldom bothers to followup on the details. they followup on what is reflected as due.
since then the tempo of the calls have increased to 15/20 calls per day.
no body in sbi is bothered by the fact that I have made the payment. all sorts of rough languages are used by the followup people. when asked to write or fax the are adamant.
i also understand that sbi has outsourced the credit card business to GE. hehehehehehe
good way for sbi to tarnish its repute.
all is not what it seems.
we imbibe great faith in a scheme because a pillar of our country is behind the SCHEME and really feel let down when we realise the cheap trick used on us. we feel used for all the wrong reason and that a treachry has been commited behind our back
