Star Wars: The Force Awakens -( Spoiler Alert) This one's bigger, bolder and grander may be because we are richer and have better CGI and 3D experts and JJ Abrams too.  Simple story - 3 decades after the defeat of the Empire, First Order has nefarious plans to cause total annihilation and rule the galaxy with Luke Skywalker having disappeared. A rogue Stormtrooper along with Han Solo, Rey a scavenger from Jakku, BB8 a droid and Chewbacca, with fighters from The Resistance ensure that this doesn't happen. Starcast - who doesn't love Harrison Ford, he's still so good as Han Solo. Daisy Ridley as Rey and John Boyega as Finn are screen stealers, remember the legacy they had to live upto. Adam Driver as Kylo Ren couldn't bring out the angst of a person torn between the dark world and the Force, nor do the father( Han Solo) son duo touch a chord in your heart.

The film could have been titled Star Wars: Finding Luke Skywalker. The story is a bit weak but you're so into the proceedings that you forget that fact. The movie suddenly aged me by few years with 85% audience in the theatre being in their late 30s and above. The movie began with a thunderous applause and when Han Solo appears on screen public goes crazy, last experienced that in Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Watch it only for the atmosphere the die hard fans create, just in case you've not already booked tickets for the 3 day Christmas break.( It's a fad now to accept that one isn't a follower of Star Wars and Harry Potter, am one of these fashionistas. But I don't forgive people who rubbish Star Trek.) May the Force be with you!
