I could easily wipe out and forget all about this film if I wasnt a Star Trek fan.Actually its obvious that this kind is losing sympathy day by day despite the very advanced technological support for special effects and other stuff…

The story is none of special interest except Picard encountering his cloned copy and Data coming across his analogue B4.The wicked cloned copy of Picard intends to renew his rapidly decaying body with the means of his original one,Picard, and commits a snare upon him. Moreover, using an analogue of Data as a virus,he achieves the crucial datas about the Enterprise and the Federation;thus he aims to obliterate the Earth and weaken the Federation. As you can predict he fails and certainly dies at the end after a brutal war between his invisible battleship and the Enterprise.Perhaps the most sorrowful part of the film is the fall of Data as he sacrifices himself for the salvage of his ship and crew.

One of the most positive issues is despite all the classical and ordinary process of the film,Baird, the director, has been able to speed up the rhythm of the film towards the end at least that you may not get bored at the last half an hour;I cant say the same for the beginning. However the so called rhythm is unable to give the ''special'' taste that we are accustomed;just the rate you can easily see in a detective film or so…In fact its merely the battle of 2 ships(2 more additional but they fall too early) and this combat continues for that 30 minutes and thats the only space combat you will ever see in the film.Besides, its a pity for me to see that the Enterprise is always weak against its rival and always something extra ordinary is needed to achieve victory.I wonder when we will see the pure victory achieved by the crude and mere battle of Enterprise…

Its unfortunate to see that these series of Star Trek are slowly growing up to be a family drama movie instead of a space crusade and a legendary journey history. As you will be able to see,Troy and Ryker get married,at the end they farewell the captain and the ship,Data’s fall and the sentimental atmosphere resulting from that and perhaps a few more I cant remember at the moment.Seems that these guys are preparing for their jubilee or otherwise is this gonna be some kind of ''Sweet November''?:)

Nothing much is needed to mention about the cast performance.Nothing negative or positive;they are just as we are used to them. However Data and Picard are a bit more shining because of their special position in this part. You almost never see Worf;he is ignored…

You will experience a disappointment about the special effects because almost none are used except the battle scenes of course. The scenes are generally taped indoors and most of them are dark;thats because the copy of Picard cannot stand sharp light and he is in the leading role to be taped. If ur not gonna use special effects in such a movie then where are u going to use them? The most enjoying issue of watching a science-fiction film is getting to see the special effects;its just like the sun at the top of you while u bath in the sea.Im afraid this one gets us to bath under the clouds…

As an ending credit I want to say that it makes me very sorry to see Star Trek becoming a dessert without sugar. In spite of all the cons I have mentioned im gonna recommend this one for the sake of this legendary saga and my deep devotion and respect for it…
