Staples Bangalore(Marathahalli branch): Poor product and terrible customer service.
We purchased a William Moris High Back chair(black color) from Stapes worth almost 12K INR. We were assured that this is a high end ergonomic chair with quality build expected to last for years, and hence the premium price. Within a year of purchasing the product however, the entire outer cover of the chair has started disintegrating(pics attached). The chair is peeling on a daily basis even though we have now stopped using it.
Upon contacting Staples customer service for rectification, we have faced multiple issues:
During the first few interactions, the customer service persons kept arguing with us about whether the chair had indeed been purchased from them. Their argument was that for the past 2 years they have only been selling brown colored WB chairs. Once we assured them that we have held on to the original bill, this argument was quickly dropped.
Subsequently, for the last two months we have been in constant touch with various personnel including customer care, store representative, store manager etc. Each time we are given different answers and different deadlines about when somebody can look at the problem.
In summary, it reflects very poorly on Staples to be selling such a low quality product under the garb of a premium product, thereby justifying the premium cost. It reflects even more poorly to make customers run around in circles once the poor quality of the product emerges and is reported.
Advice all to exercise utmost care if you plan to purchase any similar premium products from staples. Btw, if the authenticity of this post is under question, here are the purchase details:
