There are movies which makes you smile, cry, laugh, scares and then there are movies which moves you from within and forces you to think, these are the kind of movies which leaves a deep impact on you and your soul .

STANLEY KA DABBA IS ONE SUCH FILM .

After watching this movie it makes me think does word of mouth really exist?

Do we really crave for good cinema?

Or we just end up watching movies of this so called hyped superstars?

Take my example, I too ended up watching this movie on a pirated DVD(blame it on the same mindset that I discussed above, as somebody has mentioned you go to multiplex either to watch sex or Khans) anyways coming back to the movie, its a gem of a movie one of the best movies of recent times .

PLOT: The beauty of Stanley Ka Dabba lies in its sheer simplicity and authenticity. The film creates a slice of life from the pages of any and every school in big and small town India where kids just want to have fun and teachers want to be the proverbial killjoys. Of course, there are exceptions, like the popular Miss Rosie(Divya Dutta) who generously sprinkles her conversations with terms of endearments and encourages every glimpse of creativity in the kids. The biggest bugbear however is Sir Babubhai Verma(Amole Gupte) who is more interested in gobbling the kids' food rather than teaching Hindi. Stanley becomes his main target because he never seems to have his dabba, yet ends up having a daily feast with his friends. Why? Because he is the most popular boy in class and his friends simply adore him. Needless to say, Stanley's missing dabba becomes a metaphor for his mysterious life.

WHAT'S GOOD: Mr.Amol Gupte is just fabulous with kids first he created magic in taare zammen par with his writing, direction(partially) and now with stanley ka dabba he has proved that he is one of the finest directors of our time, for movies like this you need a director who is creative and at the same time not afraid to make a movie without thinking about the fate of his movie at box office.

Divya Dutta as Miss Rosie is delight to watch, i'm sure many of us will relate her to our favourite school teacher of ourschool days.

Partho as stanley has given an amazing performance, he has a natrual talent watching him on screen and his antics was sheer delight, you wont feel for second that he is acting in front of camera, same can be said for his friends who are his class mates .

teacher we had during our school days.

WHATS BAD: I'm sorry I couldnt find any though I tried but I failed and i'm happy that I failed:).

MY FINAL VERDICT: Its a gem of a movie and it will be a sin to miss such a masterpiece .I'm watching this movie again and this time in multiplex with my friends/family not just because its a fantastic movie but also to overcome my guilt of watching it on a pirated DVD .

Thanks Mr Amol Gupte for making such a wonderfull film(Take a bow Mr Gupte)

Thanks Stanley for reminding me of my school days .

Highly recommended as one of our friend on mouthshut as mentioned its a Treat for soul.

Cheers!
