I have been using Standard Chartered credit cards for some time. Have been very tolerant. I have Platinum elite, Titanium and Executive.
I went in for the Platinum card about a year back. This is a charge card, Rs 6000 per year. The main benefit for me was the domestic lounge access (free) at clipper. However, without prior notice they introduced a hefty charge.
I am not sure how they can do it when they charged Rs 6000 at the start of the year with all Terms.When I saw a charge appearing in my statement (about Rs 1500) for taking of snacks which at best will cost you Rs. 100 outside the lounge in Cafe, I protested.I realised that they stopped responding to my calls, mails. I am supposed to get priority service being a platinum card holder.
They will repeat "Please pay your balance" in replies to my mails. Phonebanking persons will keep you waiting for 10 to 15 minutes and then the phone goes off. You get only standard replies, no justification.I am writing all this because it spoiled my day/week and I felt cheated. I felt it is my duty to spread the message to all.Please avoid standard chartered bank. Looks like they are in trouble and will pass the misery to you.
