With three years of companionship with Standard Chartered and unfortunate three months of dispute with them on unnecessary additional charges on my credit card, spending hours and hours over phone with their untrained, unprofessional customer executives, I finally ended up paying all the additional baseless charges. They would never take your complain, would disconnect your calls if they don't find a resolution to your problem and will never call you back.
This is one fraudulent bank, which would notify you once you cross your credit limit that your 95% usage of credit card is over and you end up spending more or paying late fee charges. They would charge you n number of A1, A2, A3 and endless interests every month, which is far from the understanding of a layman customer. There's something also called as apportioned amount credited, then apportioned amount debited, who cares? Their smart lot of customer executives themselves don't understand these terminologies. Their EMI payments are dependent on their moods. They would sometime automatically debit from your payment to EMI account and rest of the times wait for you to notify them that a portion of the payment amount has to be transferred to your EMI account. Not just that, they would keep on charging you even when your credit card is expired and you have closed all your pending payments. But, mind you they are proactive in blocking all your access online including your reward points once your card expires. I have had a tough time dealing with these guys, have spent hours despite of hardly having time for self and all in vain.
Please do not have an account with Standard Chartered if you really want to save your time and money. Services suck big time. They would keep on charging you endlessly, without caring for you and despite your requests and even if the matter's under dispute they would still not bother and keep adding interests and late fee charges.
