I had taken a car loan from Standard Chartered bank 3 years back. My bad days started then. I was not getting any mail from the bank so I contacted them and very surprisingly was told that they are getting returned undelivered. I requested them to check the address which was allright.
Yet repeated phone calls and letters was not revealing anything. So I wrote to their office at Chennai from where I came to know that a firm's name 'CRI Enterprises' is there and so the letters are undeliverd. I was totally flabbergasted. I requested the Chennai office to send a photocopy of the form and saw that someone in the bank erronously/mischiveously has added this name and was proved by an entirely different handwriting.
After a lot of communication this error was corrected and a letter to this effect was received by me. Now last month ie. Sept. 2004 the last EMI was paid and I was told that I shall receive the NOC in a week. A month passed by and nothing came. again started the routines of phone calls and letters and was finally told that the firm's name is CRI Enterprises !! so no NOC was eing received at my residential address.
I am totally disgusted at their service and attitude. They are totally unprofessional and their sole aim is to harass the clients to the hilt. In short, NEVER TAKE A LOAN FROM STANDARD CHARTERED.
