I was approached by standard chartered to take a credit card and they promised me that they provide a ticket free on the purchase of one movie ticket through bookmyshow. They lured me into it and when I got the card and booked my tickets I never got any free ticket.
Moreover my first statement of Rs 3815.38 was not paid as their website is very confusing and it was difficult to make the payment. I spoke to the customer care and they assisted me to reach their payment page and make their payment. I was charged Rs 1249.89 on 25/02/2013 dated statement for making a late payment and interest calculated on on default amount. I requested them to give me a waiver as their website is too complicated to make a payment. They did not accept my request and asked me to make the payment along with the charges. I made the payment 05Online Payment INR 3, 815.38 CR on 27/02/2013. I made the rest payment on 16/03/2013 05Online Payment INR 24, 180.16 CR. I requested them to cancel my card as I was not interested in their card.
On 25/03/2013 they send me one more message saying INR 569.46 is due. When I called them to ask how can I be charged for something as I have already made the payment and have requested to cancel my card. They say it is some interest charged on the amount, which I had already paid them by due date.
I have written this story so that people don't fall into their trap and do not take their credit card or any other service.
This is the most fraud bank I have ever dealt with, and I think it should be thrown out of India and should not be allowed to do business in India as they are cheaters and make fake promises to the customers.
