Hello friends!!

How is everyone doing? haa…It’s a great feeling to be writing on MS, not that I have written dozens of reviews, but still it feels great to be back after a looooong time. To begin with, I had to rack my brains as to, what would be my review or topic of discussion on?? Hmmmmm…after all the thinking, I thought of writing about my college & some of the good & bad guys…oh sorry professors of my college.

Let me first introduce my college to you guys & gals. Some may be familiar with the college & the others might not even have heard about this college, though I prefer more people falling in the former list. I guess I have done enough bakwaas. Let me write about my college now.

The Xavier Institute of Communications (XIC) is a professional media center which offers a variety of services in training and production.

The Institute is located on the campus of St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. It is an autonomous educational unit of the Bombay St. Xavier’s College Society Trust which also comprises St. Xavier’s College, the Institute of Management, the Institute of counseling and the Heras Institute of Indian History and Culture.

XIC was set up in 1969 by the Catholic Bishops’ conference of India to develop scholarship and professionalism in the media. Today it ranks among the biggest non-government media centers in South Asia.

More than 1000 students enroll each year in post - graduate Diploma courses like Journalism, Advertising, Public Relations, Film/TV and Digital Media. A variety of specialized, short-term Certificate courses are also offered to media professionals, community workers, school teachers and children.

The alumni are well placed, both in India and abroad. There is scarcely any area of media activity in which they have not made a mark.

The faculty is drawn from distinguished professionals in the field. Over the years, they have developed an excellent rapport with the student body, which explains the high degree of involvement and participation which characterizes the activities of the Institute. The minimum qualification to join is a graduate degree(first class needed) in any stream.

I would recommend people to join this college if they are interested in any of the above courses & seriously want to make their careers in any of the above mentioned fields.

My experience in this college is a very nice & definitely would be memorable(i'm still in college), because I have met wonderful people our here, this is the place where i've met all kinds of people(intelligent, dumb, jealous, friendly, possesive, i've discovered myself, as an individual & as a human being..i've changed for the good(i believe)..i've started reading the Brand equity..hehehe which i've never wanted to, started watching programmes related to marketing, what else..soooo many things to tell..will tell people who really want to know much more about the college & me ofcourse.

Heh..that was too much to read, but that’s not it. I mean, I would like all of you, young and the old ones to read what is coming next. This is a beautiful piece of article written by one of our lecturer, who is has been in the advertising field all his life. This piece brings out the child in each of us..so what are you waiting for?? Go on..read it.

MY RESIGNATION AS AN ADULT

I have decided I would like to accept the

Responsibilities of a 6 year old again.

I want to sail sticks across a fresh mud

Puddle and make ripples with rocks.

I want to think that small candies are better

Than money, because you can eat them.

I want to play kickball during recess and

Paint with watercolors in art.

I want to fight and pull

the ponytails of my younger sister.

I want to be frightened again,

for having broken Mum’s precious Vase

I want to buy a pepsicola from a local icecream man

I want to think a coin is worth more than a

10 Rs note ‘cause it’s prettier and weighs more.

I want to return to a time when life was

Simple. When all I knew were colors, addition

Tables, and nursery rhymes.

When I didn’t know what I know now.

I want to believe that the world is fair.

I want to believe that everyone is honest and good.

I want to believe that anything is possible.

I want to be oblivious to the complexities of life

and be overly excited by the little things again.

I want to naively think that everyone else is

happy because I’m happy.

I want to again be able to walk on the beach

and only think of the sand between my toes,

and the prettiest seashell I can find.

I would again like to spend my afternoons

climbing trees and riding my bike.

I wouldn’t worry about time, bills, or where I

was going to find the money to fix my car.

I would wonder what I would do or be when

I grew up, not worry about what I’ll do if this

doesn’t work out.

I want to live simple…..yeah….simple again.

I don’t want my day to consist of depressing

news, how to survive more days in the month

than there is money in the bank, doctor bills,

gossip, illness, and the loss of loved ones.

I want to believe in the power of smiles, hugs,

a kind word, truth, dreams, peace, justice, love,

the imagination, mankind, Santa, the Tooth Fairy,

kiss that makes a boo boo go away,

I want to believe that my parents are the

Strongest and smartest people in the world.

I WANT TO BE 6 AGAIN.

--------------------------

I guess, the words say it all..i would end it here..bye & take care
