If you are looking for allround development, st. theresa's high school is the place to be. the school is one of bandra's best and is centrally located. duruelo's girls' school is close by as is just around the corner. the school is known for churning out great students year after year. theresa's is the alma mater of ashutosh gowariker, javed and naved jaffrey, well known orthopaedic surgeon, dr. jawahar panjwani, etc.
FEATURES
the faculty of this school includes ms. pushpa mathur, mr. thomas swami, mrs. jacintha lopez, etc. who are maestros in their respective fields.theresa's is government aided (only the secondary section) and thus its fees are minimal. it is well equipped with a large playground, an up-to-date computer room, a science laboratory, an extensive library, a hall and most recently, a special room for audiovisual presentations. the school canteen is best known for its tasty vada pavs and samosas. the extra curricular activities emphasise on sports, dramatics, singing and dancing. there are annual programmes such as the sports day, prize distribution cum parents' day, teachers' day (totally managed by students), etc. the four houses (blue, green, red and yellow) compete together in various contests held throughout the year. theresa's has its own science club, an annual magazine, scout, rsp and mcc training which add to its charm. the alumni association meets on the first sunday of each month. they also have an annual get-together. the pta is also actively involved and plays a major role in the administration of the school.
DRAWBACKS
since the past few years, the incoming crowd at st. theresa's has not been the best about which nothing much can be done by the school. moreover, the best experienced teachers here have recently retired or are on the verge of retirement. this leaves the school with young teachers. all in all, st. theresa's high school has everything that any school should have. I would like to see the school reaching even greater heights in the future.
